Hundebett - Dog bed

So, Ihr Lieben. Jetzt habe ich mal wieder ein richtiges Hundebett bekommen. Mein letztes Luxus-Hunde-Sofa wurde ja von meinen A-Welpen zerstört und dann gab es immer selbstgemachte Hundekissen aus Kaffeesäcken.
Jetzt kann ich mich mal wieder standesgemäß ausruhen. Es ist total praktisch, man kann es zusammenfalten weil der eingenähte Unterboden nur dünn ist, dazu gibt es eine gepolsterte Matte, die man herausnehmen kann. Also geschickt wenn man es mal im Auto mitnimmt oder die Wohnung aufräumt. Material ist Kunstleder, leicht zu reinigen. Da wir Riesenschnauzer ja das schwerer Bart Syndrom haben, ist der fett gepolsterte Rand das Allerbeste. Da können wir unseren Kopf ablegen und alles im Blick haben. Für die Fotosession habe ich mich mit meinen beiden Kleinen in das Hundebett gelegt, schaut mal hier.
Hey guys, now it has been time for a real doggy bed. My last luxurious dog couch has been destroyed by the A puppies and in the meantime we had only self made doggy cushions made out of coffee bags.
Now I can relax in a stylish way again. It is quite good to handle because it can be folded up due to the very thin bottom, there is a padded mat to put on the bottom. Very convenient when putting it in the car or clearing up the room. The material is artificial leather, easy to clean. Since we giant schnauzers suffer from heavy beard syndrome, the well cushioned border is the best of all! There we can lay down our heads and have everything under control at the same time. For the foto session I allowed my two kids to come inside as well, have a look:

Wie schon unsere Vorfahren, die Schnauzer mit dem schmalen Körper und den spitzen Ohren sagten: Es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter - nur falsche Kleidung - beziehungsweise ein dünnes Fell. Das haben wir nicht, unser Fell wärmt wunderbar und saugt sich auch gerne mit sauberem und schmutzigem Wasser voll. Deshalb sind wir einige Male in die Enz eingetaucht und haben uns danach beim Herumspringen auf der Wiese wieder abgetrocknet. Da gerade Bärlauchzeit ist, wurde noch einiges an Kräutern für das Kräuteröl eingesammelt, bevor es zu spät ist.
Like our ancestors, the schnauzers with the lean bodies and the pointed ears: there is no such thing as bad weather, just wrong outfit - or a very thin fur. We don't have that and our fur keeps us warm and soaks up clean and dirty water. So we also made a couple of dives into the river Enz and got dry running around on the meadow. Since this is the time of wild garlic, we collected some for a delicious scented oil before it is too late.

ZUM THEMA: Ernste Sache - Amme/ZUM THEMA: Serious stuff - surrogate mom

In der englischen Riesenschnauzergruppe gibt es gerade Neuigkeiten - einerseits traurig weil ihre Hündin Lexi bei der Geburt ihrer Welpen gestorben ist - andererseits schön, dass sich ein Rottweiler-Züchter gleich bereit erklärt hatte, seine Hündin als Amme zur Verfügung zu stellen. Roxanne, die Rotti-Hündin ist eine ganz tolle Ersatzmama.Das zeigt auch wieder einmal wie nahe Tod und Leben beieinander sind und wie wichtig es ist, schnelle Hilfe zu bekommen. Ohne die Ersatzmama hätten die Welpen - oder zumindest nicht alle - vermutlich nicht überlebt. In den ersten Lebenswochen benötigen sie alle paar Stunden Nahrung und müssen auch zum Absetzen von Kot und Urin animiert werden. Diese Höchstleistung wird von der Mutter erledigt. Ständig säugt sie die Kleinen und schleckt sie am Bauch und den Ausscheidungsorganen. Eine Riesenarbeit, die wir Menschen gar nicht in dieser Form leisten können, das sollte uns immer wieder bewusst sein.

In the English giant schnauzer group there are some news - sad on one hand because their bitch Lexi died during the birth of her puppies . on the other hand it is also beautiful because a Rottweiler breeder offered his female as surrogate mom. Roxanne, the Rottweiler girl is a great mom to them.
This demonstrates the vicinity of death and life and how important it is to get help immediately. Without the surrogate mom the puppies wouldn't have survived - or at least not all of them. In the first weeks of their life they need food every couple of hours and also have to be driven to defecate and urinate. This peak performance is the accomplishment of their mom. She is working all the time giving milk and licking their tummy and excretory organs. It is a giant job which humans can't handle in this way, we should never forget this.
We wish all the best for surrogate mom and puppies - we'll stay tuned!

Zufälle und Buddy/ Incidents and Buddy

Nachdem meine beiden Kinder ganz alleine ohne mich zur Zuchtzulassung gegangen sind, habe ich fleißig das Haus gehütet. Ich war natürlich schon ein bisschen sauer, dass ich alleine zu Hause bleiben musste auch wenn ich mit einem Rinderohr mit Fell getröstet wurde. Was habe ich mich aber gefreut als alle wieder zurück kamen, mindestens 5 Mal im Kreis bin ich gesprungen! Und jetzt haben ja beide meine Kinder ihre Zuchtzulassungsprüfung bestanden, da kann meine Erziehung doch nicht so falsch sein!
Gestern Abend waren wir wieder alle gemeinsam unterwegs und haben dann zufällig "Buddy" - einen Pfeffiriesen getroffen. Er hatte noch ein Pferd und sein Frauchen bei sich. Alle gemeinsam total entspannt - und jetzt kommt das Beste: Sie hat gefragt ob ich Susi Sorglos bin, ich bin also sozusagen berühmt, auf jeden Fall mehr als meine Menschen. Wir haben dann alle mit Buddy gespielt, er ist genauso alt wie meine beiden Chaoten, und sie haben auch ein paar Runden auf dem Gras gedreht.
Leider hat Claudia erst am Schluss ein paar Fotos gemacht weil sie die ganze Zeit am quatschen war und wie Ihr wisst, wir sind einfach zu schnell wieder aus dem Bild!
After my kids have gone to the breeding exam on their own, I guarded the house. I was a bit annoyed that I had to stay at home alone even if they bribed me with a furry cow's ear to chew on. I was so happy  when they came back that I jumped in a circle at least 5 times. And now both of my kids have passed the exam - that means that my education isn't so bad!
Yesterday evening we went out all together again and we met "Buddy" by coincidence, a pepper and salt giant. He also brought along a horse and his human. all of them totally relaxed, and you know - She asked if I was Susi Sorglos, I am famous after all, at least more than my humans. We all played with Buddy, he has the same age as my two rascals and mowed down the lawn. Unfortunately Claudia made only few pictures in the end because she had been talking all the time and you know that we are extremely fast and out of the pic in an instant.

Zuchtzulassung Alpha/ Breeding Exam Alpha

Liebe Leute, Euer Alpha war jetzt am Wochenende bei der Zuchtzulassung in Kaiserslautern.
Der kurze Halt an der Raststätte hat mal wieder ausgereicht dass zwei relativ saubere Riesenschnauzer - also ich und Aurora - es mal wieder fertig gebracht haben, sich innerhalb kürzester Zeit ihre Gesichter samt Bart und Nase in ein schönes Braun beziehungsweise Taupe zu färben. Was soll ich sagen - die Maulwürfe waren schuld.
Hey guys, your Alpha has been to the breeding exam this weekend, in Kaiserslautern. Our short stop at the service area was quite enough for two relatively clean giant schnauzers - me and Aurora - to succeed in coloring our face - nose and beard - in a beautiful brown or taupe. Well you know - it was the fault of the moles!

 Sehr schönes Vereinsgelände mitten im Wald. Mittelschnauzerin Hope von unserer OG war auch da. Ich muss sagen, ich habe mich ganz gut benommen, nicht allzu oft gekläfft trotz der vielen anderen Hunde. Aber das ist ja immer so - wenn es so viele sind, wird es irgendwann auch lästig herum zu
bellen, davon wird man nur heiser. Bei meinem Auftritt im Ring war ich sowieso total entspannt, wurde mir auch so bescheinigt "selbstsicher und gelassen", bin aber auch "freudig zum Besitzer" gerannt - was auch sehr gut ist. Schwungvolles Gangwerk habe ich ebenfalls und auch sonst soweit alles ok. Also bestanden, meine Menschen müssen jetzt noch den Papierkram erledigen, danach bin ich ein Deckrüde mit PSK-Genehmigung und warte auf freundliche Paarungsangebote von ebenfalls geeigneten Riesenschnauzerinnen.
Beautiful terrain, the club is situated in the middle of the wood. Standard Schnauzer Hope of our local group was also there. I must say, I behaved quite well, didn't bark too often in spite of all the other dogs. But you know - if there are so many, it is even getting on my nerves to bark, too much work and it makes me loose my voice for other important occasions, My performance in the ring was even quite relaxed, they also wrote it "self-assured and relaxed" though I "joined my human happily when called". Energetic gait and everything is alright so far. Passed the test, now my humans have to do the paper work, then I will be an official stud dog with permission by the PSK and am waiting for nice proposals by suitable giant females.

Alpha beim THS/ Alpha sports training

Diese Woche hat endlich wieder die THS-Saison begonnen. Da durfte dieses Mal ich - Alpha - zum Training mit. Erst Mal habe ich mich natürlich gefreut, auf den Hundeplatz gehe ich immer gern, sogar zum BH-Training aber THS macht mir mal so richtig Spass! Damit jeder weiß dass ich auch wieder da bin, habe ich erst einmal wieder in die Runde gebellt - mein nerviges "mir ist langweilig wann geht es endlich los und was wollen die Anderen alle hier, ich möchte alle Geräte für mich weil ich nicht gerne warte" - Bellen.
Tatsächlich hat unsere Trainerin auch gleich gefragt, ob ich wohl schon bereit bin, den Parcours ohne Leine zu laufen - mich als Einzigen.. Aber Hallo - und wie ich bereit bin! Wir haben aber gute Miene gemacht und sind die erste Runde mit Leine gelaufen. Ich bin in der Familie ja schon bekannt - man erinnere sich an eine meiner beliebtesten Erzählungen "Der Riesenschnauzer nicht"  Danach haben wir aber beschlossen dass jetzt gut ist und ich ohne Leine laufe wie all die anderen! Es gab außer mir noch einen Flat Coated Retriever, einen Australian Shepherd, ein Jack Russel, Labradoodle und Springer Spaniel.
Meine Hundeführerin bessert sich so langsam, sie muss einfach lernen dass sie die Hände bei sich behält und ich kenne mich ja schon aus und laufe des Öfteren ein bisschen weit vorne. Ich denke wir haben das nächstes Mal dann besser drauf, wenn wir unser Tempo ein bisschen hochschrauben. Dieses Mal ging es um Aufmerksamkeit und korrektes Ausführen der Bewegungen. Also ich denke, wir waren echt nicht schlecht und wenn ich während des Wartens auch beschäftigt werde, bin ich auch nicht gelangweilt und belle. Wir haben wieder "Twist" und "Turn" geübt - rechts und links im Kreis und dann noch "Platz, Peng und Rolldich" - da ging die Zeit bis zum nächsten Durchgang schnell vorbei und wir starteten ganz enspannt.

This week THS-Saison has started. This time it was my -Alpha's - turn to participate. I was so happy, I love to go to the dog camp even for the exam exercises but THS is my favorite! So I announced my presence to everyone by barking out loud - this annoying kind of barking like "I am bored when will we start at last and what do all the others want here, I want the devices to myself because I don't like to wait"
Actually the trainer asked if I was ready to make the round off leash - me as the only one" 
You bet that I am ready and how! We put up a brave front anyhow and made the first course on the leash. I am known in the family - just remember one of my most popular stories "Not the giant schnauzer" . Then we decided we would go without the leash like all the others! Apart from me there was a flat coated retriever, an australian shepherd, a jack russel, labradoodle and springer spaniel.
My dog leader is getting better, she has to learn to keep her hands to the body and I am too fast sometimes because I know where to go! I guess we will be better when we are faster. This time it was all about attention and correct execution of the commands. I think we weren't bad at all and when I am occupied in the waiting period I don't even get bored and bark. We practised "Twist" and "Turn" - going in a circle to the right and aleft, also "down, peng and turn on the ground" - so waiting time diminished and we started in a kind of relaxed way. 

Osterwochenende/Easter weekend

Letzte Woche hatte ich Besuch von meinem Sohn Banaak-Sam. Die Menschen haben verzweifelt versucht, ein paar gute Fotos hinzubekommen, ist ihnen aber leider nicht gelungen. Die haben sich alle so schnell bewegt. Er wurde auf rüpelhafte Weise von seinen beiden Welpensittern begrüßt, lässt sich aber auch gar nichts gefallen.
Last week my son Banaak-Sam came to see me. The humans tried desperately to shoot some good pics, unfortunately failed in doing so. They just moved too fast. He has been greeted in the usual rowdy way by his puppy sitters - wouldn't take a word from them either.

Dann waren wir wieder auf der Karfreitagswanderung. Leider nicht so tolles Wetter aber das macht uns ja nichts aus. Zwischendurch gab es Aufregung weil einer der Zwerge sich verselbständigt hatte und man ihn erst aus dem Wald holen musste. Danach gab es leckeres Essen für die Menschen und für uns Leckerli.
Then we were on our Good Friday hike. Not so great weather, but we don't mind. Some fuss about one of the miniature ones who got lost and people had to get him out of the woods. After that good food for our humans and treats for us.
