Die letzte Zeit hatten wir wahre "Hundstage", viel zu heiß für die Schnauzer. Da beschränken sich die Spaziergänge auf kurze Morgen- und Abendrunden und auch das Training wird angepasst. Da die Riesen gerne ins Wasser gehen, ist das ideal für eine kleine Abkühlung. Es werden jetzt auch vermehrt Kühlmatten angeboten aber es ist fraglich ob das wirklich so gesund ist und es kann sich da auch ganz schnell eine Blasenentzündung entwickeln. Die Hunde suchen sich schon ihre Plätze - gerne auf den Fliesen in der Wohnung, in der Hecke weil da immer ein leichter Luftzug herrscht und Sissi hat sich mal wieder eine Kuhle im Erdreich unter der Terrasse gebuddelt und kühlt sich dort aus.
Ultimately we really had those "dog days" - tot hot for the schnauzers. So we limit the walks to short morning and evening rounds and the training is exercised adequately as well. Since giants love water, this is ideal for cooling down. There are these cooling pads for sale right now but it is not sure if the really is the right solution. The dogs might get a cystitis from the freezing ground. They look for some place themselves - the tiles in the apartment, the hedge which always has a slight breeze and Sissi made herself a pit in the ground to cool down.
